I entered the following series of commands: sudo chown $USER /dev/disk0s4 I had created a WINDOWS partition, identified as disk0s4 when using diskutil list.

    So the normal Boot Camp method is out of the question. Apparently, this model is unable to create and boot from a USB dive. So I have spent the past couple of days attempting to install Windows 8.1 onto a MBP with High Sierra.
